2016 Competition

The current records set for each category and class are given below.  Where two people have achieved the same record the first to achieve it is the holder of the record.

1.  Take Offs

Maximum number of take offs / hand launches in 2 mins. The model must be stationary before each take off and complete at least one circuit of at least 3m / 10ft diameter between each. Time to start from the model first leaving the ground or hand launch.

4.  Limbo's

2 minute Limbo. Limbo poles to be approx 3m / 10ft tall and 7m / 24ft apart with an easily breakable string between the two ( subject to trials ). Time to start from the models first pass under the limbo. The limbo pass must always be flown in the same direction during the record attempt. No contact with the ground is allowed after the first pass until the end of the 2 mins.

7.  10 Laps

10 lap Timed circuit. The circuit will be between two flagpoles probably along the stream hedgerow.( when positions are first decided these will remain the same throughout the competition season ). Models should be airborne before the start of the task. The first and last laps shall start and finish at the centre of our mown patch marked by a flag at the time of the record attempt. No cuts of the marker flags are allowed otherwise the attempt is void. At least three helpers will be needed for this task, one each to spot for flag cuts and one for counting and timing.

8.  Climb and Glide

Climb and Glide ratio.  The pilot can select the duration of their motor run and must inform the time keeper of this before the attempt starts. The motor run time will start when the model leaves the ground or the hand launch and must stop when the time keeper calls cut at the chosen motor duration time. The clock will then continue to run until the model makes contact with the ground ( trees etc included ). The result will be the total flight time divided by the motor run time.   eg.  120 second total flight time with a 20 second included motor run would score 6, ( 120 / 20 = 6 )
